One of the keys to success in the entertainment world is being able to stand out. Here at the BB Basement, we’ve seen firsthand just how important it is, and have seen plenty of different traits that help actors and directors get noticed. Talent, charisma, and much more can all come into play. For Matt Lasky, all of those things and then some are present.
Matt grew up in Oklahoma City but was born in Waco, Texas before moving there. During his youth, he was the proverbial wild-child, and he experience plenty of arrests and fights as well as a run in state prison and being involved in a high speed chase that ended with one of his friends being shot.
After those rough years, Matt pushed himself to break free of trouble and started focusing on his acting career. At the age of 17 he first appeared on stage in a production of the Shakespeare classic “As you Like It”. This was followed by other small parts in stage productions before Matt decided to head to Hollywood at the age of 23.
Thanks to his rugged good looks, his unique talent, his 6 foot 5 height, and his consistent drive, Matt began to get noticed and move towards his goal. He earned a degree from the American Academy Of Dramatic Arts and spent a year in their own theater company before moving on to start going after more notable roles.
Over the last few years, Matt has made appearances in a number of productions including:
- The Mentalist
- The Purge: Anarchy
- The Equalizer
- The Search for Simon
- John Carter
- Jonah Hex
- Princess Of Mars
- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
- How I Met Your Mother
In addition to these TV and film roles, Matt has provided voices to characters in several video games including “WWE ’12″, “Saints Row: The Third”, and “Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends”.
Our own Jennifer Blanc and several of our other favorite stars like Danielle Harris had the opportunity to work with Matt on the upcoming horror film “Havenhurst”, and we can already tell that he’s someone who will certainly stand out in whatever film he appears in. He has several films in the pipeline, and as he continues to land new roles we can only imagine that his name will grow into something most are familiar with. He’s a truly multi-talented star.
